Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 25, 2026

I'm Okay ("the Service", "we") is a daily well-being check-in app that helps you stay connected with the people who care about you. We take your privacy seriously and comply with applicable privacy protection laws. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account identifier: We use anonymous sign-in. A randomly generated anonymous user ID is created for your device. We do not require an email address, password, or social login.
  • Profile information you provide: Your display name and your preferred daily check-in time.
  • Emergency contacts you register: The name and phone number of each family member or friend you choose to add as an emergency contact.
  • Check-in records: The date and time of your daily "I'm Okay" check-ins.
  • Device and technical data: Device model, operating system version, app version, and a push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) used to deliver reminders and alerts.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To send you daily check-in reminders via push notification.
  • To send an emergency alert — by push notification and SMS — to the emergency contacts you registered if you do not check in within your configured time window (for example, 24 hours).
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide support.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party providers to operate the Service:

  • Firebase (Google): Anonymous authentication, database (Firestore), cloud functions, push notifications (FCM), and analytics.
  • Twilio: Sending SMS emergency alerts to the phone numbers of your registered emergency contacts.
  • AdMob (Google): Displaying advertisements and monetization.

I'm Okay displays advertisements through Google AdMob. For this purpose, an advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID) and device information are collected and shared with Google to deliver ads and measure their effectiveness. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings.

4. Sharing of Your Information

We share information only in the following limited cases:

  • With your emergency contacts: When an alert is triggered, we notify the contacts you designated (by push notification and SMS) that you have not checked in, so they can reach out to you. This happens only when an alert condition is met.
  • With service providers: With the third-party services listed above, solely to operate the Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We share an advertising identifier with Google (AdMob) for advertising purposes as described above.

5. Emergency Contacts and Consent

When you add someone as an emergency contact, you confirm that you have obtained their consent to receive notifications and SMS messages from this Service on your behalf. You are responsible for keeping their contact details accurate and for removing contacts who no longer wish to be notified.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or uninstall the app and request deletion, we delete your profile, emergency contacts, and check-in history. Aggregated analytics data may be retained in accordance with Firebase's policy (up to 14 months).

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. You can manage your profile and emergency contacts directly in the app, or contact us at contact@leekyusung.kr.

9. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced within the app or on this page, and the effective date above will be updated.

Appendix. Website Cookies and Visit Analytics

Unlike the other sections, which describe the app, this section applies only to the website (the domain serving this page).

  • What we collect — pages visited, referral information (UTM parameters), approximate location (country and city level), device and browser type, screen size, and whether a store link was clicked. The identifier stored in cookies is a browser-level online identifier and may qualify as personal information; however, we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying information, and we do not use this identifier to single out any individual.
  • Why we collect it — solely to understand how visitors reach this site so that we can improve it. It is never used for advertising or profiling.
  • Tool and cookies — Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), which stores cookies (_ga, _ga_*) in your browser to distinguish browsers. These cookies last for up to 2 years, and you can delete them at any time using your browser's cookie controls.
  • Retention — Google Analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. Your consent choice and referral values are stored only in your own browser and are never sent to our servers.
  • Outsourced processing and international transfer — the statistics above are processed by a processor acting within the scope of our instructions, which constitutes an overseas transfer for outsourced processing; the following is disclosed under Article 28-8 of the Korean Personal Information Protection Act. Recipient: Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA, USA; contact via the Google Privacy Policy). Country of transfer: the United States. Timing and method of transfer: transmitted over the network via cookies from time to time as you use the website. Items transferred: as listed under "What we collect" above. Recipient's purpose of use: generating and analyzing visit statistics for this website, within the scope of our instructions. Recipient's retention period: as stated under "Retention" above. You may refuse this transfer as described under "How to consent, refuse, or withdraw" below, with no disadvantage whatsoever in using the website. We do not provide the data to any other third party.
  • How to consent, refuse, or withdraw — choose Decline on the banner shown on your first visit and Google Analytics is never loaded; the site remains fully usable. Even after accepting, you can withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings; when you withdraw (decline), the related cookies are deleted. As an additional option, you can also remove the cookies by clearing cookies and site data in your browser.

The referral tags (UTM) appended to store buttons do not identify you, are held only for the current browser session, and work regardless of your cookie choice.
